Only 570 bottles of this special wine were produced and we have extremely limited quantities available. The Introduction Roussanne 2019

This is a new limited release wine being brought out in our Introduction range. Produced from a single vineyard in the Blaauwklippen Valley in Stellenbosch. Made with the same care and focus as we approach all our wines. Whole bunch pressed and naturally fermented in older 400L barrels. Matured for 9 months before being bottled. Only 1800 bottles have been produced of this wine. An elegant fresh version of this variety with zesty citrus and white peach aromas. There is depth and length to the mid-palate and finish of this wine due to the barrel maturation. This is a stunning wine for summer to be enjoyed on its own or with Chicken and fish with salad.

The Cape Winemakers Guild 2021 Auction has  kicked off!

Due to the impact of the Covid 19 pandemic which has limited our movements and ability to promote and hold the annual Cape Winemakers Guild Auction which would normally have been held at Spier Wine Estate on the first weekend of October this year. The CWG has decided to hold a smaller auction online. This makes the wines more accessible to a wider audience.

The Auction is being held in 2 parts.

Part 1: The CWG Vinotheque Auction which has started and runs to the 3rd October. These are tiny parcels of older wines being offered.

Part 2: The Annual CWG Auction to be held on Saturday the 3rd October only.

In Part 1, the Vinotheque Auction, we have our Maiden vintage of our auction red wine, Maximilian 2011.  This is the best Cabernet Sauvignon block which would be blended into the Max, bottled on its own. Only 2 barrels produced. This wine featured on 2 previous auctions and is now available for the last time on this auction.

In Part 2, the 2020 CWG Auction, we have our latest version of the Saskia-Jo, from the 2018 vintage available for purchase. This year it is a blend of 65% Chenin blanc, 25% Clairette blanche and 10% Grenache blanc. Produced from grapes all sourced in the Paardeberg in the Swartland. The grapes were whole bunch pressed and the juice co-fermented in a small concrete egg. Bottled unfiltered and un-fined after 11 months of maturation. Only 280 bottles were produced of this wine and only 21 cases are available on this auction. This is a stunning expression of a Swartland white blend and the alter ego of Saskia.

For all the information on this year’s auction including the auction catalogue, how to register and how to participate please go to https://www.capewinemakersguild.com/auction

All the best and thank you for the support.
