In the vineyards
In the last 2 months since I last wrote it has been an exceptionally busy time in the market promoting our wines far and wide.
At the same time the vines have been coming alive, waking from their winter slumber and now the season is in full swing.
The season has started early but it appears that we have received enough rain and cold to kick things off for a good start, although a bit more rain in the Swartland would have been welcome.
Crops look reasonable and if the weather plays ball we could be in for a good harvest in 2020, although who knows what conditions will be dished up, we hold thumbs.

In the cellar
In the last couple of months in the cellar we have been blending. Firstly the 2018 red wines have been blended and returned to barrel. The wines show stunning depth of  flavour. More recently I have been busy putting together the 2019 white wine blends which are looking stunning, amazing freshness with beautiful depth of aroma and flavour.
It is time to plan these bottlings to make way for the coming 2020 harvest.

Recent accolades
We have recently garnered a string of accolades.
Firstly, it is a great honour to have been rated as a 2nd growth wine producer by Tim Atkin MW in his 2019 South Africa Special Report. This ranking was achieved by receiving 90 points and above for all our wines, with the Cape Winemakers Guild 2019 Auction wine, Maximilian 2014, achieving 96 points and the Max and Saskia 2016 vintages both achieving 95 point ratings.
This was followed by ratings recently released by Christian Eedes of Winemag SA, where the Saskia 2016 was awarded 97 points and the Max 2016 and Kika 2017 both achieving a 95 point rating.
