CHAPTERS STELLENBOSCH CHENIN BLANC

2024

This is a 100% Chenin blanc from a single 44-year old bush vine vineyard in the Stellenbosch region growing on shale soils.

This wine has a brilliant deep straw colour. White and yellow stone fruit aromas emanate from the glass. With floral citrus notes and a hint of tropical fruit. The wine is full and rich packed with yellow fruits, a grippy mid-palate leads to a textured finish of toasted almonds and a pithy citrus note.

Food Pairing
This wine is a perfect accompaniment to grilled fish, and chicken dishes.

This is a 100% Chenin blanc from a certified old vines bush vine vineyard planted in 1982 in the Bottelary ward of Stellenbosch, growing on weathered shale soils.

The grapes were hand harvested into small grape crates and placed in a cold store overnight. The following day the grapes were bunch sorted and whole bunch pressed into tank for overnight settling without the addition of Sulphur dioxide before being taken to 400L old French oak barrels for fermentation. The fermentation is allowed to start naturally and once completed the wine is topped and matured sur-lie for 11 months with regular lees stirring. The wine undergoes partial malolactic fermentation. This wine was bottled in January 2025.
